Did You Know About This?

Nothing happens until the pain of remaining the same outweighs the pain of change.
— Arthur Burt

Key Takeaways

  • Last summer, I lost over 25 lbs and got in the best shape of my life. But I failed.

  • My top priority was to document my training, nutrition, and the principles I used along the way so that YOU would know how to make a similar transformation, if you so desired.

  • I might just be a bad marketer.

  • I put the Transformation Ebook on my website, but I didn’t exactly tell you about it. WOOPS.

  • From now on, if I spend a significant amount of time and effort to create content that will help you improve your health and fitness, you’re going to hear about it.

Full Story

Last summer, I set a goal to lose some fat and get in the best shape of my life. And I did it. Over the course of 12 weeks, I went from 192 lbs:

“I’m just cultivating mass, bro” (1).

“I’m just cultivating mass, bro” (1).

To 166 lbs:

Ok, that’s enough nudity for one article.

Ok, that’s enough nudity for one article.

Over the past year, I’ve maintained the fat loss and my body weight is around 170lb. Success, right? WRONG!

You see, before I started my 12 week transformation, my number one goal was not to:

Nope! While the changes I experienced were awesome, it wasn’t very groundbreaking. “Fitness coach improves his fitness” - not exactly headline worthy.

My top priority was to document my training, nutrition, and the principles I used along the way so that YOU would know how to make a similar transformation, if you so desired.

And I did that, too. I wrote down every single workout, meal, and habit to give you a blueprint for a fitness transformation. Success, right? WRONG, again.

Even though I had…

  • Transformed my body

  • Took meticulous notes on the process (down to the gram of peanut butter)

  • Compiled the notes into a 70 page Ebook

  • Published it on my website

YOU DIDN’T CARE. I put the link to the book on my site for FREE, and you didn’t even look at it (okay, maybe a few people. But definitely not the response I was looking for in exchange for time and elbow grease I had put into it.)

I had forgotten the most important step.

marketing

Great Coach, Subpar Marketer

Maybe it’s because I hate the “used car salesman” aspect of my work, or that don’t enjoy using my personal fitness journey (or my shirtless body, for that matter) as a way to promote my knowledge and experience.

Or maybe it’s that I hate the idea, in general, of using physical change as a gauge of success. You will experience countless benefits when you improve your health and fitness, the least of which is achieving the beach body of your dreams.

On the other hand, I might just be a bad marketer. My background is in biology, strength and conditioning, and physical therapy - not in business or sales. I clearly have a lot to learn.

I can see where I might have went wrong. The thing is…I put the Ebook on my website, but I didn’t exactly tell you about it. WOOPS.

I had kinda just hoped that you would:

  • Stumble across my book

  • Know what it contained based on the cover

  • Reap the benefits of hearing about the principles that I and many of my clients have used to reach our goals

  • Go on with your day, thinking “Wow, John’s a pretty cool guy for sharing all that!”

I’ve learned from my mistakes and I’m better off for it.

Free

Providing Value For Free

I just want one thing. It’s what I’ve always wanted -

To give away valuable information for free.

To provide value, I need to show you what you’re getting and promote it. I understand that now. How else are you supposed to know about free information if I don’t tell you about it? Come on John, use your head!

Trust me. From now on, if I spend a significant amount of time and effort to create content that will help you improve your health and fitness, you’re going to hear about it.

Wrap Up

It’s always my goal to give you 100% honesty and transparency. I don’t rely on shady sales tactics or tricks, because I don’t need to. I believe in the value I offer and the results speak for themselves.
