How Serina Lost 40 lbs Without GLP-1s, Stepping Into A Gym, Or Cooking At Home

6 months ago, Serina googled, "Can I lose fat while eating croissants" while, understandably, eating a croissant.

The Google Gods presented her with my article, “How To Lose Fat While Enjoying Pizza, Beer, and Croissant Cookies.” She applied for coaching, started working with me in December, and today.....

…She’s down 40 POUNDS.

And here's the part I still can't get over:

  • She did it without taking GLP-1s

  • She never once set foot in a gym

  • She never cooked at home

This is why I won't shut up about my coaching! The people who commit and give me ~80% consistency over 6-12 months dramatically change their lives.

But back to Serina:

She looks and feels better than she has in years, and she's showing no signs of slowing down. Her energy is great, her strength keeps climbing while her weight keeps plummeting, her hunger is manageable, and she can see herself living this way for decades.

And that is insane, because she's tried and failed to lose weight many (many, many) times before.

Weight Watchers and keto both helped her lose a little weight, but she gained it all back (and then some) the moment she stopped. For workouts, she tried various programs including P90X. She would do it for a few weeks, hate every second, and eventually get hurt or give up.

That begs the question - what was different this time?

Here’s a breakdown of what that means, and how I used it to help Serina lose 40 pounds:

  • Environment is everything around you that makes the healthy choice easy or hard.

    1. We built movement into her day with frequent short walks.

    2. We kept high-protein, low-calorie snacks on hand and 2-3 go-to options for every meal.

    3. She got good at finding high-protein options at local restaurants.

  • Biology is the hard truth that your body fights fat loss and muscle gain, and fatigue or injury gets in the way. Serina started with three constraints: hunger, stress, and injuries.

    1. Her body would push back when we cut calories, so we did it gradually with high protein and fiber.

    2. Life stress was 10/10, so we kept physical stress low to match: a slight deficit, accepting "only" a pound a week through the hard stretches, and protecting her sleep.

    3. When more movement brought on low back and foot pain, we pulled her steps back and added foot and ankle mobility work.

  • Identity is the piece that locks results in for good, so you're not white-knuckling this forever.

    1. For a long time Serina was someone "trying" to lose weight. Since December, she's been someone who is actively losing it.

    2. She's embraced the whole lifestyle, and every healthy meal and every walk is one more vote for the person she's becoming.

Here's the kicker about Serina's story: just about everything that could go wrong did.

She pulled this off while working an incredibly stressful job and while being displaced from her home for most of the program. Through it all, she still lost 40 pounds in 6 months.
