Now, three steps to bolster your odds of success in 2025.

Just a few of my clients that have followed these three steps over the years!

1. Define Your “Why”

Behind every goal is a deeper reason—something that drives you. Maybe you want to:

  • Feel confident in your clothes

  • Keep up with your kids or grandkids

  • Improve your health and avoid future medical issues

Your “why” is your fuel.

Write it down and revisit it often. Imagine yourself achieving that goal—how would it feel? What would your life look like?

It turns the struggle into purpose and helps you push past the pain and monotony. When your “why” is clear, it transforms your journey from a series of sacrifices into a rewarding adventure.

2. Schedule Your Non-Negotiables

Failing to plan is planning to fail. It’s so cliché but so true.

If you don’t schedule your workouts, meals, and recovery time, something else will always take priority.

I was talking to a client on the phone last week, and he said, “A lot of days, I mean to go to the gym, but I get distracted or an important reminder pops up for something else.” I asked, “Why don’t you set an important reminder to get to the gym?” He chuckled and replied, “That’s a good point—I don’t know!”

This moment highlights a simple truth: if it’s not in your schedule, it’s too easy for life’s distractions to take over.

Here’s how to make it work:

  • Set specific times: Treat your workouts like important appointments.

  • Start small: Commit to 2-3 days a week if that’s realistic.

  • Eliminate guesswork: Plan your meals and prep ahead of time.

Imagine waking up each day with a clear plan—knowing exactly what you need to do and when to do it. This kind of structure doesn’t just make consistency easier; it makes it inevitable.

3. Get Structure, Support, and Accountability

Research shows that people with clear plans and accountability are 42% more likely to achieve their goals. Why?

Because structure removes the guesswork, support keeps you motivated, and accountability ensures you follow through.

Let’s compare two people:

Maybe Nextyear sets a New Year’s resolution to lose 20 pounds. She’s determined, but after a few weeks, she’s unsure of what workouts to do or what meals to prep. Life gets busy, and without a clear plan, she starts skipping workouts. No one is checking in on her progress, and the momentum fades.

My client Ezra, on the other hand, also has the same goal. But this year, he’s different. He’s signed up for a program with a coach who creates a custom workout plan tailored to his goals, fitness level, and schedule. He has weekly check-ins where his coach offers guidance, adjusts his plan when necessary, and celebrates small wins. Ezra’s coach also holds him accountable, and if he misses a workout, he knows he’ll have to explain why.

The result? Ezra sticks to his plan, sees consistent progress, and hits his goal. Maybe Nextyear, without structure, support, and accountability, struggles to maintain momentum and eventually gives up. Better luck next year, Maybe.

This is where my coaching comes in:

  • Structure: A custom plan tailored to your goals, fitness level, and schedule.

  • Support: Expert guidance to help you navigate challenges and stay on track.

  • Accountability: Regular check-ins to keep you motivated and consistent.

Success isn’t a solo journey. Whether it’s a coach, a program, or a supportive community, having a system in place makes all the difference.
