6 Huge Client Wins and 1 Black Friday Sale
It’s the most chaotic, overstimulating, wonderful time of the year—Black Friday!
Before it became a full-contact sport at Best Buy, the term first showed up in 1869 to describe a financial meltdown. Two shady Wall Street speculators tried to corner the gold market, failed, and crashed the economy. Not exactly festive.
The shopping version came later, in 1950s Philadelphia, when police used “Black Friday” to describe the traffic, crowds, and shoplifting chaos that followed Thanksgiving. Retailers hated the name—tried rebranding it as “Big Friday”—but no one bought it. By the 1980s, they spun a new story: the day stores went from “in the red” to “in the black.” That stuck—and the retail madness only grew.
Now, in 2025, your friendly neighborhood fitness coach (👋) is using it as a perfectly good excuse to give you a fat discount on coaching.
But hey—my 6th grade English teacher always said: “Show, don’t tell.” - and I listened!
So instead of telling you why this is the best time to jump in (or why you should send this to your dad, aunt, or coworker so they can), I’ll show you with 6 massive coaching wins from the past month.
(No names today, just real results from real people who might prefer to keep their wins private.)
1. Future dad hits his lowest weight in 2+ years—and sets a new bench PR in the same week
This one fires me up.
We’ve worked together for over 3 years, and he’s been remarkably consistent with lifting, cardio, and solid nutrition. But like many, his fat loss journey has had its ups and downs. The past few weeks? He flipped the switch. Dialed in his food choices, pushed harder in the gym—and dropped to his lowest weight in over two years. Oh, and casually benched 240 pounds for the first time ever.
To top it off, he referred a client and earned a cool $450 referral bonus (yep—when someone you refer signs up, you get their entire first month’s payment)!
And the timing? Couldn’t be better. His first child arrives in March. Instead of letting the stress and schedule overwhelm him, he’s using it as fuel. He’s stepping into the holidays—and fatherhood—in the best shape of his life.
That’s what I’m talking about, #1. 👊
2. After decades in the fitness industry, she finally trains for strength—and smashes PRs on pull-ups and leg press
She’s been around fitness for decades—knows the game, knows the lingo, knows what works.
But just a few months ago, she decided to shift gears and actually train for strength. And boy oh boy, did that move pay off! She just hit a pull-up personal best, then crushed 3 plates on the leg press—and even got a shoutout from a fellow gym-goer who said they’d never seen a woman rep that much weight.
Meanwhile? She’s been traveling nonstop for work. Airports, hotel gyms, unpredictable schedules—and yet she still showed up, got it done, and stayed locked in.
Her body fat’s down. Her strength’s up. And if she keeps stacking weeks like this—which she will—she’s on track to build the strong, lean look she’s been chasing for years.
Let’s go, #2. 🔥
3. Mom of two. Stressful job. Drops below 200 and loses 15+ pounds in under 2 months
I’ll be honest—I wasn’t sure how this one would go (no offense if you're reading this, #3 😂).
On our first call, I heard: busy mom of two… co-owner of an accounting firm… never lifted weights… doesn’t eat much protein… doesn’t like protein powder… or milk. And I thought: alright, we can make this work—but it won’t be easy.
But she’s crushed it. Absolutely crushed it!
The definition of minimal effective dose meets ruthless consistency—a few dumbbell workouts per week in her basement, more daily steps, and a big shift toward higher-protein eating (shoutout to the Starbucks protein latte).
She’s down 15+ pounds, dropped under 200, and is doing it in a way that’s actually sustainable. She’s navigated work trips, enjoyed cake on her birthday, and loves a few bites of ice cream with her daughters most nights —and hasn’t missed a beat.
This is what smart, real-world fat loss looks like. Off to a very strong start, #3 🙌
4. Busy lawyer benches 225 for the first time—raw, no music, no hype. Just strength.
Got a Friday night text that made my weekend: “Finally hit 225! You can see when I realize I can finish the rep because I immediately start struggling lmao.”
Another long-term client—some of you might remember him.
When we started working together in person back in 2020, he was still pretty green in the gym. Now, 5+ years later, he’s run a marathon, made massive improvements in health, and just hit a huge strength milestone: a clean 225 bench press.
Two things I admire most about this guy:
1️⃣ He works an insanely stressful job and has been through some very heavy stuff this year—but never complains or uses it as an excuse.
2️⃣ He hit both his marathon and this bench PR the same way: no music. No hype. No pre-workout playlist. Just raw discipline.
Stoic. Consistent. Mentally tough. And strong as heck. Incredibly proud, #4.
5. Another busy lawyer—down 20 pounds in 6 months and under 200 for the first time in years
Another busy lawyer, another incredible success story.
Let’s start with the stats:
- Age: 49
- Down 20+ pounds since mid-July
- Squatting 225, benching 185, deadlifting 335—for reps
Now the story behind it. After losing a close family member to lifestyle-related health issues, he made a decision: it was time to change. And change he did! He’s now the strongest and leanest he’s been in years—on pace to hit his best health ever. And bonus? The strength work is helping ease the chronic pain he’s carried for a long time.
What stands out most is his mindset. He’s got every reason to say he’s too busy, too stressed, too tired… but he doesn’t. Not once. He just shows up and gets it done.
Pop off, #5. Leading by example. 💪
6. ER doc loses 50+ pounds in 2025—despite stress levels most people can’t imagine
He’ll be the first to tell you he’s not perfect.
He misses workouts. Crumbl cookies at the office? Hard to resist. Sleep? Inconsistent at best. But despite 60+ hour weeks, overnight shifts, and the kind of stress that would break most people—he’s down 50+ pounds in 2025. No perfect streaks. No magic hacks. Just a consistent return to the basics, week after week.
Some stretches are smoother than others. But the reality is—he’s done more than enough to completely change his life in just a year.
Keep it rolling,, #6. Proof that imperfect action still gets incredible results. 🧠🔥
The best part?
I could highlight stories like these all day—because 90% of my clients have wins worth celebrating. These are just the ones that came to mind this morning as I sipped my coffee and reflected.
I love my job. And writing about these folks—about their grit, growth, and real-world wins—is the best reminder of why I do what I do. I’m lucky. Truly.
Now, let’s talk about you.
If you’ve been thinking about coaching, this is the best time to jump in. Not January 1st. Now! Why?
Because starting before the New Year puts you in the driver’s seat before the chaos hits. You build momentum now—so you’re not scrambling to undo damage later. No more "starting over." Just starting strong.
And financially?
This Black Friday deal saves you $100/month for every month you’re in coaching. That adds up fast—especially since most clients stick with coaching 6–12+ months.
👉 That’s hundreds (if not thousands) in savings.
👉 Rates go up in January.
So if you’re ready to stop guessing and start progressing—now’s the time. Your future self will thank you.
Let’s get to work!
Best,
John
